The purpose of these interviews is to learn from others what worked well, what were some of their roadblocks, and what were some lessons learned. Essentially, we want to know what they wish they had known as they embarked on their own financial transformation.
So far, we have conducted interviews with Washington State University, Brown University, and the University of Arkansas System (which includes both their six University campuses, their online university, six Community Colleges, a technical school, and 7 other major schools and units), and we have an interview scheduled with Yale.
We found that all of the institutions organize their training by Workday role, similar to what has been our approach for Oracle training. They also offer a combination of online and instructor-led training and posted job aids to support end-users. Some also had open labs or “office hours” to provide help and support immediately post go-live.

Most of what we have learned from our colleagues at these other institutions supports our approach, so it’s helpful to know that we’re on the right track!
