As a homage to Halloween and actor Michael K. Williams's passing, I invite you to revisit HBO’s groundbreaking series, Lovecraft Country. The series is a Sci-Fi examination of a family’s 1950’s struggle to survive Jim Crow America. Based on a novel by Matt Ruff, the series is brought to life by modern horror phenoms Misha Green, J.J. Abrams, and Jordan Peele, to name a few.

An episode-by-episode podcast accompanies the series with Ashley C. Ford and Lovecraft Country writer Shannon Houston. The pair examine the role of race in the series, share their thoughts on the ties between the horror genre and Black culture, and explore how the show’s themes connect to contemporary social issues in our present culture. Parental discretion is advised for both the show and the podcast!
